How do secure online payments work?

This is something we are asked a lot. iBooking offers two methods to secure customer bookings. Both involve secure processing of the customer credit card. In most cases, our customers want the security of having a valid credit card number to secure a booking. This is typically help on file but not charged. The customer can then pay their bill in full using any payment method at check-out time. Alternatively, the customisable terms and conditions allow you to take payment in full at the time of booking, charge a deposit, or charge a fee in the event of a no-show. iBooking uses SSL encryption to secure credit card details as they move between the customer and the booking database. Credit card details are never transmitted using email. Instead, you can securely access your back office area to pick up full card details and process payments in the normal way.

The second option is to use a full payment processing system such as Protx - www.protx.com. We have developed integration with this popular and low cost UK payment system allowing our customers to have full payment made direct to their bank account with no manual card processing. An extra charge is applied by the card processor for this service. It's just one of the many features built into iBooking Hotel.
